Importance of these 3 legal documents
Will: A Will is one of the most important document you may ever sign. However many of us may not have one or understand the importance of a Will, a legal document stating how you wish for your assets to be distributed when you pass away. Assets may hold financial or sentimental value and you may wish that a particular person of your family or friends receive that particular asset. Your Will may provide how your assets are divided or who will look after your children.
Enduring Power of Attorney: You may not think that you will ever lose the capacity to attend the bank and withdraw money to cover your everyday needs or that you may not be able to sign important legal documents. However we never know what the future holds. An Enduring Power of Attorney allows you to appoint a person (Attorney) that you trust to look after your financial and real estate affairs.
Enduring Guardianship: Whilst your Power of Attorney looks after your financials and real estate an Enduring Guardianship allows you to appoint a person (Guardian) to decide where you live, what health care you receive and what's to happen to you if you become terminally ill.
